2007 GERWC Grand Prix

The idea behind the Greater Evansville Runner’s/Walker’s Club Grand Prix is simple: A contest spanning ten Evansville running events to accumulate points for placing/participating in the following events.

Event #2 Toyota Spring Day 8K May 5, 2007

Event #3 Solarbron 10K May 12, 2007

Event #4 YMCA 5K August 4, 2007

Event #5 YMCA 10K September 8, 2007

Event #6 Evansville Half Marathon October 7, 2007

Event #7 Ray Rayl 5K November 3, 2007

Event #8 Thanksgiving Day 5K November 22, 2007

Event #9 Jingle Bell 5K December 1 or 9, 2007

Event #10 Healthy Resolutions 4K December 31, 2007

A runner is awarded points based upon his finish in the race’s age group.

10	Winning a race
10	1^st in age group
9	2^nd in age group
8	3^rd in age group
7	4^th in age group
6	5^th in age group
3	Completing the race

A runner may run as few or as many of the events as he wishes. All points and running totals will be calculated on the Greater Evansville Runner’s/Walker’s Club website at www.gerwc.com.

Walkers are welcome, too! Since walkers are not scored in age groups, the first walker receives 10 points, the second earns 9 points, and so on as above.

Cost is FREE! The only requirement is that the Grand Prix participant be a member of the GERWC.

Trophies will be awarded at the GERWC banquet in February, 2008! Be a part of the fun and watch your points grow in 2007.

Award specifics: Trophies will be awarded in February based on ten year age groups (10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). A runner will be placed in this trophy age group based upon the first Grand Prix event he completes. If you win a race, you cannot earn points for finishing first in an age group in that race. The Grand Prix standings will be adjusted after each race. Comments and errors should be reported to chartmann@insightbb.com as soon as possible.
