Committee Reports:
Race Timing/Web page: Web: The last minutes were updated. The Toyota entry is on the web page now.  But Toyota has changed the web site on their entry.  To get an entry or updates go to gerwc.com/toyota.  River Run entries are also on the page, because of the article that came out in the paper. There will be a Run program link from Gordon on the site. Melinda has contacted Chad on getting the Arthritis Foundation home page on the site, but it was turned down. Instead a link thru gerwc.com will connect you to their site. Race Timing: Jim Bush’s race is Saturday. 7:45 am for the volunteers. Had 350 entries. Chad is training 12-13 people with the Park’s Foundation for the river Run.  The post race party will be at the C.K. Newsome Center. And yes, there will be beer. This building will be provided free. Hopefully the entries won’t be down to much this year.

Banquet: The thought of food change for next year’s banquet was brought up. So was a speaker or not.  Will discuss in the future.

Race Calendar: Added WABX’s 5k, it is June 8th this year. Will time only. Series Cup’s have the dates set which are: (8/3, 9/7, and 10/5) Race for the Cure is Sept 21st.  June 2nd is the New Balance USATF National 15k racewalk. July 13th is set for the Run for Scouts in Princeton, Will be at 8 am. At the fairgrounds. There will be several races in May of this year.

Walker’s Report: It was asked of the Step-Up club to donate $500 to the National 15k, but was turned down. It is official that New Balance is the main sponsor.  We will need about 50-70 volunteers.

Newsletter: Monday (18th) is the deadline for articles.  Mid to late April will be the next newsletter and May/June issue will have an article about Run for Scouts.

Membership: No available information at this time.

Step-Up: Carol has ordered the hats for the kids who make the 100-mile mark. And has gotten stopwatches for all the leaders.  Richard and Shane has went out to Toyota and measured the course for the ½ mile the1 Mile and the 5 mile. A meeting was held on March 14th to discuss arrangements on various items. There will be two more meetings before this race, please contact Carol Anderson if you would like to volunteer.

Scholarship: We had one that was interested, but he was not a member. There will have to be a new deadline for this, as most colleges have a deadline of April 1st. Then they are awarded at about two days before graduation.

Old Business:
Finish Shute: It will be 300 yards long with PVC pipe, 32 posts. Andy has brought pictures of what they will look like. This will be Andy’s Eagle Scout project. 16 posts on each side. Rob has someone that will store these and bring them to the races that we need these at. The will be ready for Toyota.

New Business:
RRCA Membership: was not discussed at this time.
Convention: Gordon will be taking Rob Halbig with him, but at the same cost as previously agreed upon. Gordon will be attending 2 – 10 hour-long sessions on coaching. And Rob will attend the convention. So nothing is missed.
Arts Council and a ½ marathon: looking towards 2003 for this event. But they need advice on how to go about organization. Arts Council will provide volunteer’s member organizations. They prefer the spring but it might have to be held in the fall. That is up in the air.  They are thinking of donating pieces of art instead of trophies. They will get a committee together, to see what should be done.
Also they would like to do the Ynot2K again. But this race need’s more coverage. It was also discussed that the 2k be made into a competitive race.
Club Brochure: Who is doing this? Will discuss at the next meeting.

Other:  There will be a link on our web page to the YMCA’s web page. Next meeting we will have to decide on this. And next newsletter there will be pictures and an article of the new finish shute.

Next meeting is April 10th at 6pm. At the YMCA.
