have both paid their timing fees.
Committee Reports:
Race Timing: August 2nd is the next race to be
timed. This is in Jasper and it is the Strassenfest 5K. If anyone would
like to volunteer, please contact Gordon or Ray Pritchett, ASAP. As of
the last meeting the Run Score program was to be purchased. Shane will
need to submit an invoice for all the past races timed this year. It has
been motioned to vote on severing ties with Shane as our timer. It was
approved by the board. Gordon will pick up all equipment. A guideline will
be set on what the race directors need in future races, as not to get the
timer confused with the results. The club will use cards until further
notice. A Thank you card will be sent to Shane. We have one possible candidate.
Princeton race will use some of the equipment for a $50 fee. The Art's
Council wants to borrow 10 stopwatches for July 20th. It is for timing
an Auto Olympics. Contact person is Jodi.
Web Page: Greg is updating the web site. Greg has
explained to Gordon about maintaining the Evansville Online acct.
Race Calendar: Nov 2nd is the Ind. Association/USATF
20K. It will be held at Wesselman's park. Drew Swonder is the race director.
Correction from newsletter, the Ray Rayl memorial 5k is Nov 1st at SWIRC,
not Nov 3rd as stated. It has a start time of 9am.
Membership: we have 137 paid members.

Azteca has bought
out Jiffy Print. Will need to add money soon to the post-office account.
Deadline for next newsletter articles is Aug 15th.
Special Events: The picnic is set for Aug 17th.
It will be held at the first shelter house. Don will go Friday, before
and pick up the key to the restrooms. Everyone has been contacted. One
more meeting to finalize the games and prizes. If anyone wants to help
please contact Don or Craig. Craig is getting the surveys back too. A meeting
will be scheduled for this. May try to utilize the surveys by the end of
this year or beginning of next.
Step-Up: New club has started in Henderson. They
have given away some t-shirts and one has gotten a 100 mile medal. Jenny
O'Connor with the EVSC will present the Step-Up club to the EVSC board
to try to get others involved. A letter will be presented also to all the
Principals and PTA presidents. Haubstadt Chamber of Commerce has donated
$100 to the Step-up club. Carol will get more leader hand books printed
up. Cost of $300 for 50 and $360 for 100.
Brochure: Health Dept/Chronic Disease are measuring
different areas out to be included on a map of possible locations to run
or walk. YMCA has a few as well as some hotels. Carol is working on this.
Scholarship:
Our two winners were presented with a check each in the amount of $500.
They are as following:

who is going to IU. And Randall Woodruff who is going to Wabash. Congratulations!
Info and photos will be on the web site and also to the local paper and
to the Princeton paper.
It was brought
up that we open this up to the public for 1 year. Motioned and the board
voted approval. Will be the same counties and schools as years previous.
Old Business: Summer Track Program: Over 105 have
now gone through the track program to date. The week of July3rd was a small
crowd though. We will need a consistent announcer. $25 is the cost of the
stadium and the janitor has not submitted a bill yet either. Hopefully
we will continue this next year.
New Business:
Otter Race: A check list was passed out. Trophies have been purchased.
Otters will furnish the tables and some volunteers at the water station.
Volunteers will need to show up by 5:30pm. Will use the display clock,
First 50 to win.
Vice President:
no nominations as of yet.
Storage: The club
will rent Bob Head's trailer. It will need to store the long finish shute
and the tables and chairs. No price decided.
Other:
We will get prices of magnetic logo to put on trailer. Will have the info
next meeting.
Dunham's has offered
15% off to the club members. Gordon will check into what the club needs
to supply to make this happen.
