1. Letter from Cale O’Bryan thanking us for awarding him the 2006 Ray
Rayl Scholarship
Race Timing
1. Spring Scurry 5k at Casino Aztar is April 14 at 9 a.m. and volunteers
are in place.
2. Tri-Fest 5k is April 21 at 9 a.m. in Henderson Kentucky. Volunteers
are needed
3. Toyota Spring Day 8k is May 5. 12-15 volunteers are needed
4. Solarbron 10k is May 12
5. Run for the Roses 5k is May 19 in Morganfield Kentucky
6. The Run From Colon Cancer event has been billed for timing services
7. The first event of the GERWC Grand Prix is the Spring Scurry 5k

1. It was the consensus of the board to remove races we don’t time
from the Results page.
2. Updated software has been added
3. The Swift Athletics add has been reduced in size as per the March
meeting.
4. GERWC Volunteer list has been added
5. Ray Rayl Award ‘winners’ from the past has been added
6. May newsletter will be added May 1
7. The Membership list has been updated
8. The ‘counter’ on the home page will be removed

Events Calendar -no report
Race Management
1. Five races in the next six weeks.
2. Bob Head will be given a club stop watch to use for the 2007
season.
3. RELATED TO RACE MANAGEMENT – A motion was carried unanimously
to approve an additional 25 cents per finisher for Bob Head for Card Timed
races. There is much re-typing involved and other duties. His current salary
is 50 cents per finisher.
Membership
1. Going well at this time. Swift Athletics is accepting memberships
and Gordon Benfield is updated weekly.
Newsletter
1. May 2007 issue to go out May 1. Articles should be sent in by April
20th. Photos can be included and are encouraged.
Picnic - no report
Step-Up Club
1. No new clubs to report
2. There are now 6 clubs and 140-150 kids.
Scholarship
1. The annual GERWC award has 7 girl and 5 boy applicants. Volunteers
will review them and selections will be made at the May meeting. It was
recommended they be awarded at the June meeting.
Summer Track Program
1. Dates are set
2. Tri-State Runner has sponsored this event the last 2 years and is
asking the GERWC to join their club. Gordon will follow up.
Special Events - no report
New Business
1. Discussion of a ‘K-9’ race. Participants would race with their dogs
as a funds raiser for the Vanderburgh Humane Society. We would serve as
advisors.
2. Timing Equipment – Discussion concerning the condition of our timing
machine and our responsibility for accurate results. A motion was made
and carried to purchase a new time machine. The cost will be between $1000.00
and $1200.00
3. We have many race registration names on file and a decision needs
to be made how best to file them for mail outs. Tabled.
4. Blue polo shirts have been ordered for board members.
5. ‘Week-A-Walk’ participants in the Healthier Evansville event will
receive coffee mugs donated from GERWC.
6. It was suggested GERWC again be part of the YMCA Half Marathon weekly
training sessions
